Five Named College Sports Communicators' Women's At-Large Academic All-Americans

Cardinal produces five CSC Academic All-America At-Large picks

STANFORD, Calif. – Kelly Belardi (beach volleyball), Arianna Cao (fencing), Megha Ganne (women’s golf), Paula Martin Sampedro (women’s golf) and Anna Roberts (women’s gymnastics) were honored as Stanford’s College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-America Women’s At-Large selections on Tuesday.

Cao, Ganne, Sampedro and Roberts were named to the first team, while Belardi was recognized with a spot on the second team. The five selections increase Stanford’s 2025-26 CSC Academic All-America count to 25 overall, with the men’s honorees to be announced on Wednesday.

Belardi earned Stanford beach volleyball’s first-ever College Sports Communicators Academic All-America Second Team honor and is just the program’s second-ever Academic All-America honoree.  As a senior, she earned her first-ever AVCA All-America award and captured her third career all-conference honor. She held a 26-15 record in the 2026 season, her fourth consecutive year with at least 26 victories, including a 24-15 record on court one (with partners Avery Jackson, Ruby Sorra, Mikki Carlin and Ashley Vincent) and a 2-0 ledger on court two (with partner Avery Jackson). She ended her illustrious Stanford career with 113 individual wins, the most by a Cardinal player in program history, and the 2026 captain solidified her legacy as one of the program’s most impactful players by leading Stanford to its first-ever NCAA Championship Dual Match appearance and best-ever finish (NCAA runner-up), alongside its fourth consecutive NCAA championship appearance with her in the lineup and sixth straight overall.

Cao earned the honors for the second straight season after another dominant season as a junior. Cao finished the year as a USFCA All-America Honorable Mention, finishing with ACC Fencer and Scholar-Athlete of the Year honors. The San Jose product took home the ACC women’s foil crown, Stanford’s first individual championship since joining the conference last season. The success earned her a spot at the NCAA Championships for the third straight season, where she finished ninth. Through three seasons on The Farm, Cao now boasts two All-America honors, three West All-Region selections, two ACC Fencer of the Year awards and an NCAA Individual National Championship in 2025.

Ganne capped off her Stanford career with an individual runner-up finish at the NCAA Championship, finishing two strokes off an individual national championship. She took home the Inkster Award for the highest-placing senior at the NCAA Championship, just one of many awards for her this season. She became a three-time First Team All-America selection en route to helping Stanford land the 2026 NCAA women’s golf title, the team’s third in five years. Her career scoring average of 71.01 is the second-best in program history. Excelling in the classroom as well, Ganne is a three-time academic all-conference honoree, including two All-ACC Academic honors, and is a four-time WGCA All-American Scholar.

Martín Sampedro is a two-time conference golfer of the year recipient, including the 2026 ACC Golfer of the Year after she won individual medalist honors at the ACC Championship. She is the No. 2-ranked amateur in the world and is a three-time First Team All-American, capping off her junior season as a finalist for the Honda Sport Award in women's golf. Her career scoring average of 70.19 is the lowest in Stanford history through three seasons, which would rank as the second-best in NCAA women's golf history. She has been widely honored for her work in the classroom, as she was named the ACC Women's Golf Scholar-Athlete of the Year, the first women's golfer to earn a conference student-athlete of the year award since 2023.

Roberts earns her first College Sports Communicators Academic All-America honor and became Stanford women’s gymnastics’ third-ever awardee after a record-setting career on The Farm. The 2026 ACC Gymnast of the Year and five-time 2026 All-ACC Gymnastics Team member led the conference on vault (9.910 NQS), beam (9.930 NQS) and all-around (39.630 NQS), becoming the first athlete to lead the league in three events at the end of the regular season. For the second consecutive season, she has set or matched her collegiate-best marks on all four events and the all-around in 2026, including recording three perfect 10s -- two on vault, one on floor. She is the only conference athlete to earn a 10.000 on any event this season, and one of just six athletes nationwide to record more than one perfect score in 2026. She holds the school record for best all-around competition performance (39.875), set at Oregon State Feb. 27, 2026 when she and the Cardinal posted Stanford’s first score of 198.000 or higher in more than 20 years and the first-ever on the road (198.150). She also set the conference record for most weekly honors in a season, receiving eight of 10 possible awards during the 2026 campaign. Roberts ended the 2026 season with five All-American honors, four from the WCGA (First Team (All-Around); Second Team (Vault, Beam, Floor)) and one from the NCAA (Second Team (Beam)), and was a finalist for both the Honda and AAI awards.
