STANFORD, Calif. — Ethan Ekk and Henry McFadden are competing this week at the 2026 Pan Pacific Championships, hosted at the William Woollett Jr. Aquatics Center in Irvine. Events run from Aug. 12-15.
Ekk (Canada) and McFadden (United States) will hit the pool in this prestigious event. Ekk is competing in six events, focusing primarily on the freestyle and backstroke disciplines, while McFadden is in three freestyle events and the 100 butterfly.
The Pan Pacific Championships are a quadrennial long-course event, hosting the nations of Argentina, Australia, Bermuda, Brazil, Canada, China, Colombia, Eritrea, Micronesia, Guatemala, Jamaica, Japan, Mexico, New Zealand, Peru, the Philippines, Palau, South Africa, Singapore, Chinese Taipei and the United States.
Unlike the Olympic Games or World Championships, nations are not limited in the number of entries per event. However, only two swimmers from each nation can advance beyond the preliminary round.
Prelims are slated for 10 a.m. PT each day, followed by finals at 6 p.m. PT. All sessions of the Pan Pacific Championships are streamed live on Peacock.
