STANFORD, Calif. – Helping lead Stanford to a 1-0 shutout victory at Cal Poly to open the 2026 season, freshman London Young has been named the inaugural ACC Freshman of the Week.
The conference weekly honor is the first of Young’s career, and the first for Stanford this season.
Young played all 90 minutes at centerback for the Cardinal in Sunday’s win, helping to limit the Mustangs to just four total shots - including two on frame.
North Carolina’s Bella Devey was named Offensive Player of the Week, Wake Forest’s Sierra Sythe was named Defensive Player of the Week, and Nona Reason of Clemson shared Co-Goalkeeper of the Week with Wake Forest’s Valentina Amaral.
The Cardinal is now preparing to host Georgetown in the home opener on Thursday at 4 p.m.
