Hosting a pair of matches to open up the athletic season on The Farm, top-ranked Stanford women’s soccer shut out No. 14 Georgetown by a score of 2-0, on Thursday, before coasting to a 6-0 win over UC Irvine, on Sunday.
Against Georgetown, scored twice in the first 10 minutes of play, with Freshman Ella Kral tallying her first career goal in the sixth minute, and Charlotte Kohler quickly added to Stanford’s lead in the 10th minute, cutting into the box before unleashing a right-footed attempt from a difficult angle and pinning her shot inside the near post.
On Sunday, Stanford scored four times in the first half, and added two more goals in the second half, en route to earning a 6-0 victory over the visiting Anteaters. Junior Bella Winn notched her first Stanford goal in the eighth minute, and in the second half, Charlotte Kohler stretched her goal streak to three straight contests to start the season, one-timing her shot to the far post for the goal.
