STANFORD, Calif. - The No. 3-ranked Cardinal opens the 2026 season on the road this weekend, heading south to take on No. 13 UC Irvine and Cal State Fullerton on Saturday. Stanford is coming off a season in which the team advanced to the NCAA Championship semifinal for the second-straight season.Â
NON-CON HOT STREAK » The Cardinal has been on a roll against opponents outside of the MPSF West, winning each of the last 42 games against teams other than UCLA, USC and California.
BIG NAMES ARE BACK » Stanford returns three ACWPC All-America selections this season in Botond Balogh (second team), Alex Gheorghe (third team) and Will Schneider (honorable mention). The trio earned All-MPSF honors as well in 2025, along with Ben Forer.
TRANSFERS TO THE FARM » In addition to three returning All-Americans, the Card brought in a pair of established All-Americans in Bernardo Herzer and James Rozolis-Hill. Herzer, a transfer from USC, earned first team honors in 2024 and honorable mention in 2023. Rozolis-Hill joins from Harvard, where the three-time All-American scored 358 goals in three seasons.
DYNAMIC DUO » Balogh and Forer are back after dominant offensive seasons last year. The juniors finished first and second on the team in total points, goals, assists and multi-goal games.
