COLUMBUS, Ga. — All three ANNIKA Award finalists from last year’s Stanford’s women’s golf squad are poised to make more noise during the 2026-27 season. Those three Cardinal were named to the 2026-27 ANNIKA Award Preseason Watch List, announced on Thursday morning.
The initial group of 25 of the best women’s golfers in college features three from Stanford: Paula MartÃn Sampedro, Meja Örtengren, and Andrea Revuelta. The Cardinal is the only program in the country to have three individuals represented on this list. Texas, Texas A&M, USC, and Wake Forest have two. Including Stanford’s three, there are eight from the ACC on the watch list.
MartÃn Sampedro, Örtengren, and Revuelta form one of the biggest trios in the sport atop any team’s lineup. They won a combined five tournaments last year, with MartÃn Sampedro winning the ACC individual championship and Revuelta winning the NCAA Stanford Regional.
All three were ANNIKA Award finalists last year when Stanford won its third national championship in five years. Örtengren and Revuelta have been finalists in both their collegiate seasons.
MartÃn Sampedro holds the active program record for career scoring average (70.19). Örtengren (70.30) and Revuelta (70.50) do not have enough rounds to qualify, but if they did, they would sit second and third, respectively.
Created in 2014, the ANNIKA Award presented by Stifel is annually given to the top female Division 1 collegiate golfer; the winner is voted on by players, coaches, and members of the college golf media. Named for Annika Sorenstam, the award was created in partnership with the Haskins Foundation to acknowledge the top female golfer and to match the Haskins Award presented by Stifel, which acknowledges the top male Division I collegiate golfer.
