PHOENIX — Nine past and present Cardinal gymnasts head to the desert to compete for U.S. National Team spots at the 2026 Xfinity U.S. Gymnastics Championships, slated for August 6-9 at Mortgage Matchup Center.
Men's competition will begin Thursday at 7 p.m. PT, with the second session scheduled for Saturday at 4:30 p.m. PT. National champions will be crowned based on cumulative scores from both days.
Following the conclusion of the meet, athletes will be selected to the 2025 U.S. Senior National Team and earn their place on the 2025 Senior World Championship roster.Â
Representing Stanford at the U.S. Championships includes current Cardinal gymnasts Nartey Brady, Xander Hong, Jun Iwai, Cooper Kim, Justin Park, and David Shamah, as well as alums Taylor Burkhart, Nick Kuebler, and Colt Walker.Â
The Cardinal contingent will look to extend a five-year streak of a Stanford gymnast winning the U.S. all-around title. Asher Hong won his second national title last season to add to his 2023 victory, while Brody Malone earned all-around crowns in 2021, 2022, and 2024.
The 2026 Xfinity U.S. Championships will air live on NBC Sports Network and Peacock from Thursday through Sunday.
