Leng Tabbed Preseason All-American

STANFORD, Calif. — Stanford men’s golf continues to garner preseason praise as rising junior Jay Leng has been tabbed to two Preseason All-America lists, both Golfweek and Golf Channel announced this week. 

Leng earns First Team honors on both lists alongside nine other golfers from around the country after what has been a monumental summer. Leng captured the 2026 Elite Amateur Cup title having earned three top five finishes at the nation’s premier amateur summer tournaments including a win at The Western Amateur. Leng finished the summer with a runner-up finish in the U.S. Amateur that saw him earn multiple PGA TOUR exemptions and a spot on the United States’ Walker Cup team that will compete from September 5-6 at Lahinch Golf Club in the Republic of Ireland. 

The San Diego, Calif., native also slotted on the 2026-27 Haskins Award presented by Stifel Preseason Watch List last Thursday, earning a spot on the exclusive 25-golfer list. Leng recorded a 70.92 scoring average across 36 rounds last season for the Cardinal, earning four top-10 finishes including a career-best outing at The Goodwin where he finished tied for third overall at 7-under. 

Leng will compete for the United States team at the 51st Walker Cup from September 5-6 while the Cardinal hits the road for its first tournament of the season in Arizona as Stanford tees off from the Bombs Darts Birds Collegiate on September 7.
