UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. – Posting a season-high .453 attack percentage, No. 4 Stanford swept Ohio, 25-18, 25-17, 25-16, Sunday, at Rec Hall on the campus of Penn State University.
Stanford (5-2) held Ohio (4-4) to a .134 hitting percentage and finished with 8.0 blocks, five aces and 30 digs. The Cardinal hit over .500 in both the second and third sets and limited itself to just five hitting errors for the match.
Outside hitters Ipar Kurt and Julia Blyashov led the team with eight kills apiece. Kurt hit a season-high .615 and tallied two blocks, while Blyashov posted a .467 attack percentage and had three digs, two aces and a block.
Junior Lilly Wagner started at setter for the Cardinal, totaling 24 assists, nine digs, three kills and a block. Libero Spencer Etzler collected a match-best 10 digs to go with five assists and two aces.
Opposite Jordyn Harvey registered seven kills on .429 hitting, while middle blocker Lizzy Andrew added six kills on 13 errorless swings, three blocks and an ace. Freshman middle blocker Ella Andrews chipped in with four kills and four blocks.
Freshman Simone Roslon tallied four digs, while sophomore Kaci Demaria notched two kills in the third set. Freshman Sarah Hickman also subbed in in the third set, posting a kill and a block.
Stanford moves to 2-0 all-time against Ohio.
Stanford remains on the road next week, travelling to San Luis Obispo to take on No. 7 Arizona State on Thursday, Santa Clara on Friday and Cal Poly on Sunday.
