The Opening Kickoff
- Stanford football returns home for the third time in four games as it closes out the month of September with a home contest against Georgia Tech. The game is televised on ESPN with a kickoff time of 7:30 p.m.
- Georgia Tech is the last opponent in the ACC that Stanford has not faced in conference play. Stanford has not played Georgia Tech since the 2001 Seattle Bowl. Both previous meetings with the Yellow Jackets came in bowl games.
- Through three games, Stanford has not lost the turnover battle and is +2 in turnover margin. This is the second time in the last three seasons Stanford has begun a season with three straight games without losing the turnover battle. The Cardinal is tied for third in the ACC in turnover margin and, with just one turnover this season, trails only No. 16 Louisville in the conference for fewest turnovers.
- Quarterback Davis Warren is one of four ACC quarterbacks without an interception heading into Week 4. He has started his Stanford career with 107 consecutive pass attempts without throwing an interception.
- With turnovers forced in three straight games to begin 2026, the Cardinal is one of 34 FBS programs to record a turnover in all its games to begin the season. Three other ACC programs are on the list: Duke, Louisville, and North Carolina.
- Matt Rose continues to be one of the best linebackers in the ACC and the nation. The fifth-year linebacker from Brecksville, Ohio, is tied for second in the ACC with 27 tackles through three games, trailing only Anthony Palano of Boston College. He finished 2025 in the top 25 nationally in total tackles and is tied for 26th in the first month of this season.
- Stanford's recent success inside Stanford Stadium is undeniable. The Cardinal is 6-3 over its last nine home games dating back to 2024, with marquee wins over programs like Louisville, Florida State, and California. Stanford is averaging nearly 26 points per game during that span compared to under 15 points per game on the road during the same stretch.
- Stanford Athletics celebrates its 2026 Hall of Fame class during Saturday night's showdown with Georgia Tech. Two former football greats will be celebrated along with the rest of the 2026 class: quarterback Kevin Hogan and fullback/linebacker Owen Marecic.
