SAN LUIS OBISPO, Calif. – In its first true road match of the season, No. 8 Stanford defeated Cal Poly, 25-22, 25-22, 21-25, 25-20, Sunday, to close out the SLO Classic at Mott Athletics Center.
Stanford (7-3) hit .414 as a team, posting season-highs in kills (60) and aces (9). Cal Poly (4-6) turned in a .368 attack percentage and racked up 50 digs.
Opposite Jordyn Harvey registered a career-high 21 kills on .500 hitting to go with six digs, two aces and two blocks. Middle blocker Lizzy Andrew added 17 kills on a season-best .667 attack percentage. The junior also notched a match-high four blocks.
Setter Logan Parks recorded her fifth double-double of the season with 47 assists and 12 digs. Additionally, the sophomore had three kills, two blocks and an ace.
Outside hitter Julia Blyashov totaled nine kills, eight digs and a block, while outside hitter Ipar Kurt added eight kills, five digs and a block. Middle blocker Ella Andrews finished with two kills, three digs and two blocks.
Libero Spencer Etzler tallied four digs, six assists and an ace. Junior defensive specialist Malyssa Cawa collected four digs and put down a career-high two aces, while senior Koko Kirsch contributed a pair of aces and a dig. Junior Lilly Wagner also had an ace and an assist for the Cardinal.
Cal Poly had four players register double-digit kills, led by Kendall Beshear’s 14 on .542 hitting. Stanford improved to 12-4 all-time against the Mustangs.
