Big performances across the board by former Cardinal

STANFORD, Calif. — Christian McCaffrey reached a milestone, Bobby Okereke continues to get turnovers, and Dalton Schultz put up a monster performance as part of a busy second week of the NFL season for former Stanford Cardinal.

Below is a breakdown of each performance by a former Cardinal in Week 2:

Carolina Panthers 34, Atlanta Falcons 3

  • Bobby Okereke (CAR): Tied for the game-high in tackles with nine, his most in a game with the Panthers…intercepted a Cooper Rush pass in the first quarter on Atlanta’s second drive…the eighth interception of his career and his first as a member of the Panthers…the second turnover he has forced through two games.
  • Brycen Tremayne (CAR): Played 26 total snaps, including 11 at wide receiver.
  • Austin Hooper (ATL): Saw 30 offensive snaps at tight end for the Falcons, catching two of his four targets for 20 yards, finishing second on the team in receiving…his four targets were tied for second most for Atlanta.
  • Jake Bailey (ATL): Punted three times for an average of 50.3 yards per punt, including a long of 62 yards, his longest of the year.

Minnesota Vikings 9, Chicago Bears 3

    • Sam Roush (CHI): Caught his first career NFL pass, a nine-yard reception from Caleb Williams to begin a drive at the end of the third quarter…played 20 offensive snaps and received three targets, including one red zone target.

Philadelphia Eagles 24, Tennessee Titans 20

    • Elic Ayomanor (TEN): Started at wide receiver and caught two of his three targets for 69 yards, leading the Titans in receiving yards…in the fourth quarter, caught a 41-yard pass from Cam Ward that featured a hurdle over an Eagles defender for extra yardage, setting up a go-ahead field goal for Tennessee…earned an 80.4 grade via PFF, the best offensive grade for a Titans player on Sunday.
    • Solomon Thomas (TEN): Played 20 snaps on the defensive line and recorded three tackles, including one solo tackle…added one quarterback hurry.

Green Bay Packers 20, New York Jets 17 (OT)

      • Harrison Phillips (NYJ): Started at defensive tackle for the Jets and played 32 snaps…recovered a fumble early in the fourth quarter that led to a Jets field goal, extending the team’s lead to 17-7…was his first fumble recovery as a New York Jet and the sixth of his NFL career.

New Orleans Saints 24, Baltimore Ravens 17

        • Justin Reid (NO): Started at safety and played every defensive snap as the Saints upset the Ravens…recorded three solo tackles.

Cincinnati Bengals 20, Houston Texans 6

        • Dalton Schultz (HOU): Had a massive day for the Texans, recording 12 receptions for 140 yards to pace the team…career-highs in both receptions and receiving yards…joins Zach Ertz as the only former Stanford tight ends to have a game with at least 12 catches and 140 yards (Ertz did so with the Eagles on Nov. 11, 2018)…just the fourth former Cardinal to put up that stat line in an NFL game (Michael Wilson – 2025, Ertz – 2018, Doug Baldwin – 2016).

Denver Broncos 20, Jacksonville Jaguars 13

          • Walker Little (JAX): Played on four special teams snaps, serving as a lineman on three field goal attempts and one extra point.

Las Vegas Raiders 26, Los Angeles Chargers 14

          • Thomas Booker IV (LV): Played 26 snaps on the defensive line as the Raiders improved to 2-0 for the first time since 2021…recorded one solo tackle.
          • Kendall Williamson (LAC): Appeared on 20 special teams snaps.

Dallas Cowboys 37, Washington Commanders 20

          • Curtis Robinson (DAL): Made his Cowboys debut on Sunday, playing 21 total snaps, with 19 coming on special teams.

Seattle Seahawks 31, Arizona Cardinals 7

          • Michael Wilson (ARI): Finished second on the Cardinals in targets with seven, but caught just two passes for 14 yards as Arizona struggled to move the ball…his 9.0 yards per catch led Arizona’s passing attack.
          • Elijah Higgins (ARI): Played 28 total snaps for Arizona…graded out as the best special teams player for the Cardinals in Week 2 per PFF (91.5).
          • Simi Fehoko (ARI): Appeared on 23 total snaps, with 17 coming on special teams.

San Francisco 49ers 35, Miami Dolphins 13

          • Christian McCaffrey (SF): Ran the ball 10 times for 23 yards while adding four receptions for 43 yards…scored on a pair of rushing 1-yard rushing touchdowns, including the first touchdown of the game for the 49ers…his 14th career game with multiple rushing touchdowns…his second rushing touchdown was his 100th NFL touchdown…reached the 100 touchdown mark in 114 games, the fourth-fewest games to do so in NFL history…became the third player in NFL history to score at least 50 career touchdowns with two franchises (Marshall Faulk, Randy Moss).

Los Angeles Rams 28, New York Giants 6

            • Colby Parkinson (LAR): Started at tight end and caught both of his targets for 15 yards…was one of just four Rams to catch multiple passes in the game.

Zach Ertz signed with the Philadelphia Eagles on Monday, set to join their practice squad. The Eagles are dealing with injuries to tight ends, including starting tight end Dallas Goedert, and have added the veteran Ertz to help with the position. Should he make the active roster, he would begin his 14th season in the NFL, after spending eight-plus seasons with Philadelphia from 2013-21.
