STANFORD, Calif. — After a thrilling comeback victory inside Stanford Stadium on Saturday night, Davis Warren and Matt Rose earned weekly awards from the ACC. Warren took home ACC Quarterback of the Week honors, and Rose was named ACC Linebacker of the Week.
Warren helped engineer Stanford’s comeback to the tune of 24 points in the second half. He put together the best game of his collegiate career, throwing for 396 yards and three touchdowns, with all three scores coming after halftime. His 396 yards land him inside the top-15 for single-game yardage in program history. Warren also extended his streak to 143 consecutive passing attempts without an interception to begin the season, the longest streak in FBS.
Rose put together an 11-tackle performance, with eight solo tackles and two-and-a-half tackles-for-loss. The last Cardinal linebacker to have that stat line in a game was Bobby Okereke in 2017. His efforts on defense helped spark a defensive turnaround that saw Georgia Tech score just seven points and turn the ball over twice. Rose ranks second in the ACC in tackles and has recorded at least 10 tackles in two of four games this year.
These are the first weekly awards earned by Cardinal football players since Micah Ford was named ACC Running Back of the Week after Week 0 and Atticus Joseph landed the ACC Rookie of the Week award.
Stanford hits the road the next two weeks, with a road clash against Wake Forest up first on Saturday, Oct. 3. The game kicks off at 9 a.m. PT on ACC Network.
