STANFORD, Calif. – Middle blocker Lizzy Andrew has been voted the ACC Defensive Player of the Week, the conference announced today.
Andrew led Stanford in a pair of four-set home wins over South Florida and Marquette, averaging 3.88 kills on .446 hitting, 2.00 blocks and 5.00 points per set.
The junior had a career-high 17 kills on .500 hitting and a career-best 12 blocks for her first collegiate double-double against USF. A closed out the week with a match-high 14 kills, four blocks, two digs and an ace versus Marquette.
It marks the first career weekly honor for Andrew. Stanford now boasts  195 weekly awards all-time dating back to its time in the Pac-12 Conference, including 31 Offensive, 45 Defensive, 7 Setter and 39 Freshman.
No. 4 Stanford meets No. 19 Texas A&M on Wednesday as part of the ACC/SEC Showdown at the Net in Orlando at the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex. First serve is scheduled for 6 p.m. PT on ESPN2.
