LOUISVILLE, Ky. – Earning a split on the road during the third week of ACC action, No. 14 Stanford women’s volleyball was tripped up by No. 3 Louisville, 3-0, at L&N Federal Credit Union Arena. Stanford drops to 10-6 this season with a 3-3 mark in ACC play.
Lizzy Andrew led the Cardinal with 11 kills and a .308 hitting percentage, while Jordyn Harvey and Julia Blyashov had seven kills apiece. Blyashov co-led Stanford with 13 digs, alongside Spencer Etzler, while Logan Parks, the reigning ACC Setter of the Week, contributed 26 assists and six digs. Ella Andrews paced the visitors with four blocks.
Stanford trailed early in the opening set but rallied to take a five-point lead, 16-11, after a 7-1 run in the middle of the frame. The Cardinal led 23-22 after a kill from Harvey, but Louisville earned the final three points of the period to take a 1-0 lead in the match.
The Cardinals won the second set, 25-18, despite a late charge from Stanford. In the third frame, Louisville took control with an 8-1 run to lead 18-9 in the period, though Stanford rallied with five of the final eight points including three from Blyashov. The Cardinals cut the rally short to earn the result, with Stanford moving to 3-5 all-time against Louisville.
Stanford returns to Maples Pavilion to host Wake Forest on Friday, Oct. 16 at 7 p.m. and NC State on Sunday, Oct. 18 at 1 p.m. Both matches will be broadcast on ACC Network Extra.
