The Opening Kickoff
- Stanford football is back on The Farm for the first of two consecutive weeks on Saturday as it hosts the Elon Phoenix. Kickoff is at 4:30 p.m. on ACC Network Extra.
- The Cardinal and Phoenix have never met on the gridiron, and it serves as Stanford's final non-conference game of the 2026 regular season.
- Saturday's game will mark the first time since 2001 that Stanford plays consecutive non-conference regular season games in October or later. The Cardinal played at No. 3 Notre Dame last week.
- The Cardinal has enjoyed a lot of success at home over the last few seasons. Stanford is 7-3 in its last 10 home games going back to 2024, and 2-1 during the 2026 season, with its only loss being to the national runner-up in the CFP Championship game, No. 7 Miami. Stanford has scored 37 points in both home wins and has over 460 yards of total offense in those two games.
- Despite some offensive struggles in its last two road games, Stanford has shown the ability to push the ball downfield in the air. The Cardinal has six passing plays of at least 40 yards, four of at least 50 yards, and three of at least 60 yards, all ranking in the top five in the ACC. Only Louisville (4) has more passing plays this year that have gone for at least 60 yards.
- Aidan Flintoft has been a field-position weapon all season long for the Cardinal, and ranks among the best punters in the ACC. He leads the ACC in punt yardage (1,567), the second most in FBS. His 42.5 net yards average ranks fifth in the ACC, with Stanford's punt coverage team doing a great job covering kicks all year.
- Fifth-year safety Jay Green is tied for the Stanford lead in tackles with 38. He ranks second in the ACC among safeties in tackles and is tied for fourth among defensive backs.
- Among qualified receivers in the ACC, Caden High ranks seventh in the conference in yards per reception at 16.5. No wide receiver in the ACC has more receptions of 40+ yards (3) and 50+ yards (2).
- Stanford is celebrating Reunion Homecoming all weekend long, welcoming back alumni young and old. This year's featured classes are the 1s and 6s, including the 50-year reunion of the Class of 1976. Stanford won during Reunion Homecoming last year, beating Florida State 20-13.
