STANFORD, Calif. — After finishing in the top five on three occasions in October, including two tournament wins, Meja Örtengren was named the ACC Women’s Golfer of the Month. The conference office announced the award on Friday morning, the final one issued in 2026.
October was a trophy month for Örtengren, and it’s hard to envision a better finish. She placed fourth at the Windy City Classic during the first week of October and then won consecutive tournaments to close the month. She won the Stanford Intercollegiate with a 199 (-14), the second-lowest score by a female in the history of Stanford Golf Course. She then came one stroke away from tying the program record in relation to par as she shot a 201 (-18) in her win at the Nanea Invitational.
Six of her nine rounds in October were in the 60s, leading to an insane 68.11 scoring average. Three of her rounds were at least six strokes under par.
It is the second time in Örtengren’s career that she has earned a monthly award from the ACC. In February of 2025, she earned Co-Golfer of the Month honors after securing her first collegiate win.
The Cardinal will not be in action again until Feb. 22-23 at the Bruin Wave Invitational, hosted by UCLA and Pepperdine. That begins the first of three stroke-play tournaments for Stanford in the spring before the ACC Championship on Apr. 15-18.
