STANFORD, Calif. — After a dominant display in Stanford's season opener with the College Swimming League (CSL), senior Caroline Bricker has been named the ACC Swimmer of the Week.
Bricker swept her three events in front of a record crowd at Avery Aquatic Center, helping lift Stanford to victory over California, Auburn and Ohio State. The Colorado Springs, Colo., native was also named the SwimSwam Women's MVP of the Meet.
Bricker opened her night with a dominant showing in the 200 fly, clocking a 1:52.42 to finish over three seconds ahead of the field. She added another victory in the 200 IM with a 1:54.09, which was faster than all of her marks in the event last season, before capping off her evening sweep with a 1:44.26 to touch first in the 200 free.
Bricker’s times in all three events rank among the top three in the nation after two weeks of the collegiate season, including her 200 IM mark, which leads the country. It is the first weekly honor of Bricker’s career, as she enters her senior season looking to add to an already decorated résumé that includes two NCAA titles and nine All-America honors.
Stanford's season resumes with its second CSL regular season match in Walnut, Calif., against California, Indiana, and NC State.
