SOUTH BEND, Ind. – Led by Julia Blyashov and Jordyn Harvey, No. 14 Stanford defeated Notre Dame, 23-25, 25-23, 25-22, 25-19, Friday, at Purcell Pavilion at the Joyce Center.
Stanford (10-5, 3-2 ACC) hit .273 as a team and racked up 13.0 blocks and a season-best 73 digs. Notre Dame (4-10, 1-4 ACC) turned in a .189 clip and finished with 3.0 blocks and 65 digs.
Blyashov had a team-high 17 kills on .326 hitting to go with 11 digs for her fifth double-double of the season. Harvey added 15 kills on a .412 attack percentage and matched her season-highs with 14 digs and seven blocks. The senior as tallied a career-best five assists.
Setter Logan Parks dished out 40 assists and had 11 digs for her fifth double-double of the year. Libero Spencer Etzler anchored the defense with a season-high 24 digs – one shy of her career-high. The sophomore also recorded all three of Stanford’s aces to go with a kill.
Outside hitter Kaci Demaria finished with 14 kills, five digs and a block. Middle blocker Lizzy Andrew chipped in with six kills and four blocks, including two solo, while freshman Ella Andrews had three kills and a career-high eight blocks.
Notre Dame was led by Mae Kordas’ match-high 19 kills and eight digs while Sydney Helmers totaled 17 kills and 13 digs. Stanford improved to 10-1 all-time against Notre Dame.
Stanford closes out the weekend on Sunday at No. 3 Louisville. First serve is slated for 10 a.m. PT on ESPN.
