  • Placed 48th in her first Pac-12 championship race, as team's No. 9 runner.

  • Advanced to the NCAA West Prelims for the third consecutive year.
  • Placed 10th overall at the West Prelims, her highest finish and was three spots from NCAA qualifying.
  • Ran 1,500 lifetime best of 4:24.16 at the Brutus Hamilton Invite, placing fifth.
  • USTFCCCA All-Academic selection.
  • Pac-12 All-Academic honorable mention.

Indoors

  • Ran the opening leg of the winning distance medley relay at the UW Invitational.
  • Set mile personal best at the Husky Classic, running 4:46.96.
  • Broke that with a 4:45.54 at the MPSF Championships.
  • MPSF All-Academic selection.

Cross country

  • Raced once, as Stanford's No. 6 at the Stanford Invite.

As a sophomore (2015-16):
Outdoors

  • Pac-12 All-Academic honorable mention.
  • USTFCCCA All-Academic team.

Indoors

  • Tenth in the MPSF Championships mile in a season best 4:48.05.
  • Won the 1,000 at the Penn State National in 2:47.08.
  • Ran the first leg of Stanford's runner-up distance medley relay team at the MPSF Championships.
  • The time of 11:12.41 was No. 17 in the nation.
  • MPSF All-Academic team.

Cross country

  • Made collegiate cross country debut by placing 29th at the Stanford Invitational as team's No. 7.

As a freshman (2014-15):
Outdoors

  • Qualified for the NCAA West Prelims in the 800, running season best of 2:09.54 at the West Coast Last Chance meet in San Francisco.
  • Ran 1,500 personal record 4:19.60 at the Pac-12 Championships, placing 19th overall.
  • Sixth in the Big Meet 1,500.

Indoors

  • Finished 14th at the MPSF Championships in the 800, in a season best 2:09.95.
  • Made collegiate debut by placing eighth in the 1,000 meters (2:49.23) at the UW Indoor Preview.
  • Set personal best in the mile while finishing fifth at the Razorback Invitational, running 4:47.81.

Cross country

  • Ran unattached in the Stanford Invitational, finishing 32nd in 21:59.

High School:

  • Captured 13 individual state titles in indoor and outdoor distance running, set eight Rhode Island high school state records, won New England titles, set regional records and earned All-America honors.
  • Earned an A in every one of her 24 mainly Advanced Placement and honors courses.
  • The state outdoor record holder in the 800 (2:08.40) and 1,500 (4:26.88), and holds indoor records in the 400 (56.30) and 800 (2:06.67, which broke a 27-year-old New England record).
  • In 2014, she captured the 800, 1,500, and 4x400 at the outdoor state championships, and tripled in the 1,000, 1,500, and 3,000 for the second consecutive indoor season.
  • Won back-to-back New England indoor titles in the 1,000.
  • Led Classical to three state titles -- two outdoor, one indoor.
  • Three-time Gatorade Rhode Island Track Athlete of the Year.
  • Was seventh in the 800 at the 2014 U.S. junior nationals (2:10.79).
  • Played soccer her first three falls at Classical High, but took up cross country as a senior and placed third in the state and eighth in New England.
  • Her best long jump of 19-1 was only three inches shy of a 28-year-old state record.
  • Prep mile best of 4:50.11 (indoors) and javelin best of 112-7.
  • A member of Classical High’s debating team and chess club.
  • In being named Honor Roll Girl by the Providence Journal in 2014, the newspaper wrote: "Maddy Berkson delivered a career of athletic and academic excellence never before seen in the 170-year history of Classical High School."
