USA Water Polo

• Played for the USA Men's Senior National Team at the FINA World Cup from Aug. 19-24 in Almaty, Kazakhstan in which the U.S. finished fourth
• Helped the senior team to a fifth-place finish at the FINA World League Super Final in Dubai from June 14-21, 2014 
• Also appeared for the USA Men's Senior National Team at its four-game series with Serbia in Northern California from June 4-8, 2014
• Scored once for the USA Men's Senior National Team at the FINA Intercontinental Qualification Tournament in Shanghai, China from May 26-31, 2014
• Part of the USA Men's Senior National Team for the Volvo Cup in Sznolnok, Hungary Feb. 7-9, 2014
• Saw action with the USA Senior National Team at both the Volvo Cup and Eger Hungary FINA Intercontinental Tournament in Shanghai, China in 2014

• Collected DPHS water polo team MVP in 2010
• Named JV team MVP as a sophomore
• Played club water polo for Santa Barbara Aquatics Club (formerly Santa Barbara Water Polo Club) since 2003
• Named a first-team All-American in 2008 after leading his team to runner-up finishes at the Junior Olympics and Florida International Tournament

Personal

• Born in Walnut Creek, Calif.
• Parents are Shaun and Betsy Cleary
• Father won two NCAA water polo championships at California and was with the USA Senior National Team that earned the gold medal at Pan American Games and fourth place at World Games
• Mother swam at Florida, earning a NCAA championship with the team and was ranked as high as No. 2 in the world in the 100 fly
• Two relatives, Jenny Stein and Susan (Rapp) von der Lippe, swam for Stanford, while von der Lippe (as Susan Rapp) earned gold (400-meter medley relay) and silver (200-meter breaststroke) medals at the 1984 Olympics
• Has two siblings, Kels and Shannon
• Sister Shannon is on the women's water polo team at Stanford
• Completing a master's degree in healthcare policy
• Hobbies include surfing and reading
