Skip Braatz, Gaby Gonzalez and David Schinski become the department's newest Assistant AD's.
July 31, 2001
STANFORD, Calif. - Stanford University Athletic Director Ted Leland announced on Tuesday that Skip Braatz, Gaby Gonzalez and David Schinski have all been promoted to Assistant Athletic Director positions.
Braatz will serve as Assistant Athletic Director for Facilities, Gonzalez as Assistant Athletic Director for Operations and Schinski as Assistant Athletic Director for Capital Planning.
"We are very pleased to announce these promotions," Leland said. "These three individuals play an extremely important day-to-day role in planning for, building and maintaining our outstanding athletic facilities."
Braatz joined the Stanford Athletic Department in August of 2000 as the Director of Rowing. He was then promoted to the position of Aquatics Director and oversaw the completion of the Avery Aquatic Center in May of this year. In his new position, Braatz will oversee the day-to-day operation of all of Stanford's athletic and recreational facilities.
Gonzalez, who is a 1992 graduate of Stanford University, has worked in the athletic department since 1989. She worked in events and operations from 1989-94, before taking over her current position as manager of the Athletic Department's Corp Yard. In that role, Gonzalez oversees all facility preparation and maintenance.
Schinski joined the department in 1998 as Facilities Coordinator, and was quickly promoted to Facilities Project Manager and later became the Director of Facilities and Capital Planning. Schinski's role involves the delivery of all capital projects, in addition to serving as the athletic department's liaison to the university for long- and short-term facility planning.
