Stanford University senior Cori Enghusen (Bothell, WA) and Lindsey Yamasaki (Oregon City, OR) are among the more than 80 players who have been invited to participate in the 2002 WNBA Pre-Draft Camp at the Moody Bible Institute in Chicago on Friday and Saturday.
The WNBA hopefuls, comprised of players from more than 60 colleges and universities, will showcase their skills during the two-day combine. All 16 WNBA teams will be scouting players in preparation for the upcoming collegiate draft, which will be held on Friday, April 19 at 8:30 a.m. (PDT) on ESPN2. The draft features four rounds and a grand total of 64 selections.
WNBA training camps will open on Monday, April 29. The WNBA Preseason begins on Thursday, May 9, and the regular season will commence on Saturday, May 25.
Yamasaki, a 6-foot-1 forward, was an Honorable Mention Associated Press All-American, in addition to being named to both the Kodak District VIII and Pacific-10 Conference first teams. She averaged a team-high 17.2 points, 4.8 rebounds and 2.6 assists, and scored in double figures in 28 of her 32 outings. She finished ninth on the Stanford's career scoring list with 1,497 points, and also finished second in Stanford history and tied for fourth in Pac-10 history with 192 career 3-pointers.
Enghusen, a 6-foot-7 center, averaged 5.3 points, 3.4 rebounds and 1.7 blocked shots this season. She shattered the Stanford single season blocked shot record this year, by swatting 58 in 35 games. Enghusen finished her collegiate career with 136 blocked shots.
