STANFORD, Calif. - Nicole Powell has been named to the NCAA Division I Kodak/WBCA All-America Basketball Team. She becomes the first Stanford women's basketball player in history to be a three-time Kodak All-America honoree.
Powell finished her Stanford career ranked first in total rebounds (1,143), first in career rebounds per game (9.6), second in points per game (17.3), second in free throw percentage (82.9; 457-of-551), second in free throws attempted (551), second in 3-pointers attempted (518), second in 3-pointers made (201), third in total points (2,062) and fifth in assists (577).
Stanford advanced to the Elite Eight of the NCAA Tournament this season, led by Powell with 627 points (20.2 ppg) and 346 rebounds (11.2 rpg).
"The committee did an excellent job in selecting this 30th anniversary team," said WBCA Chief Executive Officer Beth Bass. "These players have had excellent seasons and are deserving of this most prestigious honor and recognition. The WBCA wishes them the best in all of their future endeavors."
Selection committees in each of the eight WBCA geographical regions select ten women's basketball players to be honored.
