Philadelphia, Pa - The Stanford women's distance medley relay team placed fifth among 35 teams that competed on Thursday at the Penn Relays.
The Cardinal team of Katy Trotter (1,200 meters, 3:28.4), Christine Moschella (400 meters, 54.2), Laura Mottaz (800 meters, 2:13.6) and Sara Bei (1,500 meters, 4:48.0) ran the distance in a time of 11:24.17. Duke won the race with a time of 11:10.18. North Carolina was second (11:11.48) followed by Villanova (11:12.76) and Arkansas (11:19.48).
Competition for Stanford athletes continue on Friday. Stanford competitors will include Erica McLain in the triple jump.
