Singles Quotes

Theresa Logar, Stanford (Upset No. 8 Babos)
"My goal this year was to make All-American, and I knew it would be tough when I saw Suzi Babos in my draw in the second round. Today, I think I was able to play the right kind of style to give her problems. I was able to take a lot off the ball and force her into mistakes and to just play scrappy tennis."

No. 8 Suzi Babos, California-Berkeley (Upset by Logar)
"I played awful and she played better. Basically, I beat myself. The wind is not my favorite condition to play in. I couldn't do the things I wanted to do because the ball was basically floating around. The wind was definitely with her."

No. 9-16 Zerene Reyes, Florida
"It was a pretty good win for me today. I was feeling relaxed and (Stanford's Alice Barnes) was making mistakes. The first set was tight but after the first set it felt like it was all me. I'm just happy to advance. I'm not really too tired, but I'll drink a lot of Gatorade to get ready for tomorrow."

Doubles Quotes

No. 5-8 Whitney Benik-Lolita Frangulyan, Florida (Liu/Yelsey Round of 16 Opponents)
Benik: "I thought we played really well today. We had a good strategy for this match and we came out and stuck to it from the beginning."
Frangulyan: "It feels good to get the first one over with. We did a good job of playing our style and playing our game from the first point. We never let them get into their rhythm. Overall, it was a good start."

No. 1 Shadisha Robinson and Caroline Basu, Georgia (Barnes/Burdette Round of 16 Opponents)
Robinson:
"We both compliment each other and help our games out, I know my ground strokes look better because of the way she (Basu) can play at the net. I played much better today and was more confident. There is less pressure in doubles because you have someone to depend on too and that helps."
Basu: "It was tough draw, we played them before but it was a pro set so this was a much different match. The wind made it hard to finish points, we had to fight out there. I watched the singles yesterday, and I was upset that I didn't make it in so I was ready for our doubles match."
