Jenkins, Oshinowo and Rushing Selected in NFL Draft

Three more players off Stanford's 2005 club were chosen in today's NFL Draft as DE Julian Jenkins, NT Babatunde Oshinowo and CB T.J. Rushing all had their named called at Radio City Music Hall in New York. Yesterday, Stanford's Jon Alston was taken in the third round. The Cardinal has had 10 players taken in the NFL Draft the past two years.

Today, however, saw Jenkins taken in the fifth round (156th overall pick) by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Oshinowo was chosen in the sixth round (181st overall) by the Cleveland Browns, and T.J. Rushing was picked in the seventh and final round (238th overall) by the Indianapolis Colts.

Jenkins was a four-year letter-winner and a key member of Stanford's defensive from 2002-05. He started all 22 games as a junior and senior and played in 42 of 44 in his career, including playing in nine of 11 as a true freshman. Jenkins was a two-time honorable mention All-Pac-10 selection and he finished his career with 130 total tackles, 22 tackles for loss and 17 quarterback sacks.

During his Stanford career, Oshinowo was a four-year letter-winner who played in all 44 Cardinal games and started 34 at nose tackle, including all 33 in 2002, 2003 and '04. He was a two-time honorable mention All-Pac-10 and three-time First-Team Academic All-Pac-10 selection. Oshinowo finished his career with 143 total tackles, 15 quarterback sacks and 30 tackles for loss

Rushing was a four-year letter-winner who played in all 44 games during his career and finished among the school's all-time great kickoff return specialists. He is No. 2 in the Cardinal record book in kickoff return average (27.1) and third in kickoff return yards (1,409). He returned three kickoffs for touchdowns in his career, including two in 2005. Rushing started 19 games in his career at cornerback and was a two-time All-Pac-10 selection as a kickoff return specialist. In 2004, he was sixth in the nation in kickoff return average (28.4).
