Stanford Concludes Spring Practice No. 8

April 17, 2007

"We dug deeper into our repetoire," said Cardinal head coach Jim Harbaugh of today's spring football practice. "We had a lot of new schemes and new plays.. and we're a bit slower than we'd like. But, we're learning," he said after leading the Cardinal through its eighth practice of the 15-practice session.

Throughout the cold, chilly day at the Elliott Practice Fields, Stanford, as it has done all spring, was enthusiastic and spirited throughout the two-and-a-half hour practice. A series of two-minute drills ended the practice, highlighted by a 40-yard touchdown pass from Alex Loukas to Mark Bradford.

Other highlights in the final drills included an interception by Nick Sanchez after Austin Yancy tipped the pass by Tavita Pritchard and a 28-yard touchdown pass play from T.C. Ostrander to Emeka Nnoli on a fake reverse.

Notes: Senior Evan Moore returned to practice for the first time this spring as he participated in non-contact drills. Previously, Moore has been on the practice field but not able to participate in drills. "I eased into it today," he said. "I was glad to get out there. I worked hard to get to this point and I didn't want to miss all of spring." ... Former NFL players Brent Jones and Steve Bono have been added to the roster for Saturday's Alumni Flag Football Game ... Jones and Bono will play for the team comprised of the Cardinal coaching staff that will take on former Stanford players, including Troy Walters, Bob Whitfield, Todd Husak, Chad Hutchinson and Brian Allen, among others.
