Complete 2007 All-Pac-10 Team

Walnut Creek, Calif. - Stanford Baseball players Sean Ratliff, Adam Sorgi and Michael Taylor were selected to the 2007 All-Pac-10 Team announced by Pacific-10 Commissioner Tom Hansen on Wednesday. All three were honored on the All-Pac-10 Team for the first time in their collegiate careers with Sorgi and Taylor having been previously named honorable mention once each. Joey August picked up honorable mention All-Pac-10 status in 2007 for the first time at Stanford.

"We're really excited about these selections," said Stanford head coach Mark Marquess. "I think they're all deserving, and I think it says something to get these honors especially when we didn't have a spectacular season. To stand out and perform well enough to be recognized by the conference is a credit to them."

Ratliff is leading the Cardinal in several offensive categories, including homers (12, #5T Pac-10), runs scored (56, #3T Pac-10), triples (4, #5T Pac-10), at bats (218, #5 Pac-10), total bases (127, #6T Pac-10) and slugging percentage (.583). He co-leads the team along with Taylor in hits (71, #10T Pac-10), games played (52) and games started (52). Ratliff has also contributed 39 RBI and a .326 batting average.

Sorgi leads Stanford with a .384 batting average and also boasts a team-high .455 on-base percentage, while adding 26 RBI. He has reached the minimum number of at bats (2.5 per team game played) needed to officially qualify for Stanford's team lead in stats but still needs to play in each of the team's three remaining regular season games to reach the Pac-10 and NCAA minimum requirement of playing in 75% of the team's games. Sorgi has successfully returned from a shoulder injury that caused him to miss all of the 2006 season and limited his action early in 2007.

In addition to the categories he co-leads with Ratliff, Taylor paces the club with 48 RBI. He has also added 10 homers (#7T Pac-10) and a batting average that is currently at a season-high .330. Taylor has been red hot late in the season and currently has a nine-game hit streak while also notching 13 multiple-hit games in his last 16 contests. He is hitting .438 (32-73) over the 16-game period with six doubles, a triple, five homers and 20 RBI, while raising his batting average a total of 35 points to its current .330.
