STANFORD, Calif.-- Stanford sailors Nick Dugdale, Peter Stemler and Rebecca King were each named all-Pacific Coast Collegiate Sailing Conference. Dugdale and Stemler were two of seven skippers, King was one of five crew members.
Dugdale's skippering duties has included nine races this season, culminating with a first place finish at the PCCSC Coed Championships this past weekend in Honolulu.He also skippered a runner-up finish at the PCC Fall Championships and a third place finish at the first North sectional championships.
Stemler had the top score in the “B” division at last weekend's conference championships, leading the Cardinal to its second-straight conference title in two weeks. Stemler along with Justin Doane were part of the winning team at the Wenner Intersectional in Hawaii in January and the first North Sectional Championship. He was third at the Rose Bowl Regatta just after New Year's and fourth out of 28 teams at the St. Francis Regatta.
King was a crew at 11 regattas this season, teamming with Eliza Richartz to win the Bryson's Women's Sectional in October and the third North sectional championship. She also crewed runner-up finishes at the first North sectional and the PCC Fall Champioships and was third at the Rose Bowl Regatta. In six of her races this season, her boat finished either first (four times) or second (twice).
The women's all-conference team will be announced next week following the women's conference championships in Long Beach this weekend.
