WALNUT CREEK, Calif.-- Stanford righthander Jordan Pries was named the Pac-10 Conference's Pitcher of the Week following his eight-hitter at No. 2-ranked UCLA last Saturday.

The sophomore twice retired seven in a row to hand the Bruins its first loss of the year. Through 7.2 innings, he had allowed a single unearned run on four hits, before tiring and giving up an additional three runs in the eighth and ninth innings.

This is the second career honor for Pries and 75th career honor for the Stanford program, a conference record.

Pries overall on the year is 3-1 with a 3.35 ERA, having thrown a complete game in two of the last three weeks.

No. 22-ranked Stanford (13-9) is at Cal on Monday, host Saint Mary's at Klein Field at Sunken Diamond on Wednesday (5:30 p.m.) and host Oregon in a three-game series beginning on Friday
