STANFORD, Calif. - Quarterback Andrew Luck has been named Stanford’s Muscle Milk Athlete of the Week after leading the Cardinal to a 40-12 victory over Virginia Tech in the 2011 Discover Orange Bowl on January 3.
Luck completed 18-of-23 passes for 287 yards and four touchdowns to pace Stanford to its 12th win of the season and first bowl victory since 1996. Three of Luck’s touchdown tosses came after halftime, as Stanford outscored the Hokies, 27-0 after intermission to notch its eighth straight victory to conclude one the most successful seasons in its long football history.
