Holland Earns Muscle Milk Honor

Stanford men's water polo goalie Drew Holland was named Muscle Milk Student-Athlete of the Week for the week of Oct. 14-20. It is the first career Muscle Milk honor for Holland and the first of 2013 for the men's water polo program.

The freshman from Orinda made 11 saves in No. 4 Stanford's 8-6 win over No. 2 UCLA at Avery Aquatic Center Saturday. Holland anchored a defense that held UCLA to an 0-for-11 showing on 6-on-5 situations as well as a season-low six goals. The Bruins entered the contest ranking second in the MPSF with 16.47 goals per game.

Holland and the Cardinal (12-4, 1-1 MPSF) return to action Sunday, Oct. 27 at 12 p.m., hosting No. 9 Pepperdine at Avery Aquatic Center.
