Stanford Scores Shocker, Almost

PALO ALTO, Calif.--USC may have taken Stanford lightly coming into a match-up of a Stanford team with a 4-5 record against a powerful USC squad which boasted a 9-1-1 record. But when the dust had settled, both teams had earned eachothers respect.

In what turned out to be a lot closer game than expected the USC Women's Soccer team outlasted Stanford 3-2.

The loss puts leaves the Cardinal record at 0-1 in conference play and 4-6 overall. USC now has a perfect 1-0 conference record and overall they stand at 10-1-1.

The Cardinal next host UCLA on Sunday at 1 p.m.
