Former Stanford standout Aska Sturdevan begins her first season as a volunteer assistant coach.

Sturdevan enjoyed an impressive career on the Farm from 2003-2006, serving as a team captain and anchor of the Cardinal defense.

As a senior, Sturdevan was named a NFHCA Second Team West Region All-American in addition to garnering All-NorPac First Team accolades. In 2006, Sturdevan started all 19 games and was third on the team in points (14 points, 6 goals, 2 assists) while attempting 39 shots, second-best on the Cardinal. She was also selected to compete in the 2006 NFHCA Division I Senior All-Star Game.

Sturdevan also earned First Team All-NorPac honors as a junior in 2005 and Second Team recognition as a sophomore in 2004.

Sturdevan, who led the Cardinal in shot attempts during her freshman season, also was a three-time NFHCA Academic All-American.
