A talented and crafty left-hander with an excellent breaking ball...Expected to be used in middle relief but may also see some action late in ballgames....Should be one of the team's most experienced arms out of the bullpen...Youngest player in Canadian Junior National Team history and a member of squad that won the bronze medal at the 1997 World Championships...Selected by the Atlanta Braves in the 18th round of the June 1997 Amateur Draft.

As a Sophomore in 1999 - Finished the season with a 2-3 record and a 5.48 ERA in 23.0 innings pitched...Made 10 appearances, including two starts...Totaled 19 strikeouts...Posted impressive back-to-back performances versus Santa Clara (February 14) and California (February 19), holding both teams scoreless in a total of 5.2 innings of work...Had a career-high-tying four strikeouts in 3.2 innings at Texas on March 20.

As a Freshman in 1998 - Split time between the bullpen and fourth spot in the starting rotation...Went 1-1 with a 3.42 ERA and one save in 11 appearances, including six starts...Also struck out 24 in just 23.2 innings of work...Allowed one hit and one run over 2.1 innings to earn first collegiate save in 8-3 win at Santa Clara on February 24...Worked 3.0 scoreless, two-hit innings to earn first collegiate victory in 12-2 triumph over Sacramento State on April 14...Received starting nod versus Long Beach State in NCAA West Regional on May 23, allowing three hits and two runs over 3.2 innings in 5-1 loss.
