Professional Baseball Organization: Los Angeles Dodgers (12th round - 2008)
Professional Baseball Career: Was selected by the Los Angeles Dodgers in the 12th round of the 2008 Major League Baseball First-Year Player Draft...was used solely as a position player in 33 games with the Ogden Raptors of the Pioneer Rookie League, batting .301 (34-for-113) with 15 runs scored, 10 doubles, one triple, one home run and 21 RBI...also drew 15 walks for a .396 on-base percentage.
At Stanford: Was a two-way player throughout his three-year Stanford career, seeing significant time both on the mound and at third base...was a 2008 All-Pac-10 honorable mention performer, while also earning honorable mention Pac-10 All-Academic accolades...finished 13-5 with three saves, a 4.21 ERA (63er, 134.2ip) and one complete game in 51 outings (14 starts)...at the plate, batted .257 (37-for-144) with 19 runs scored, 13 doubles, two triples, one home run and 26 RBI in 96 games (26 starts)...won his first six collegiate decisions...went 3-1 with one save and a 3.24 ERA (9er, 25.0ip) in seven NCAA Tournament games (one start)...held opponents to a paltry .228 average (21-for-92) in postseason play.

As a Sophomore in 2007: Posted a 3-1 record and one save despite a 6.21 ERA (29er, 42.0ip) in 18 appearances (six starts)...was 1-0 with a save and an 8.74 ERA in five Pac-10 outings, including his first career Pac-10 start in the team's final game of the season May 27 at USC...hit .231 (9-for-39) with four RBI over 31 games played and 14 starts, with eight of those starts as a position player.
As a Freshman in 2006: Finished with an unbeaten 4-0 record with one save and a club-best 2.84 ERA (8er, 25.1ip) in 16 relief appearances...earned the win in his collegiate pitching debut with 2.0 scoreless innings February 5 vs. Cal State Fullerton...retired all three batters faced May 10 at Sacramento State for his first career save...hit .139 (5-for-36) with one homer and seven RBI...all five of his hits were for extra bases (three doubles, one triple, one homer), lifting his slugging percentage to .361...had just two hits in his last 31 at bats (.065) after getting three in his first five...homered on February 4 and was the winning pitcher on February 5 during the season-opening Cal State Fullerton series, becoming the first Stanford player to do both in the same season since Nate Olmstead in 1993...went 1-for-3 with a double and RBI in his collegiate debut February 3 against the Titans.
High School: Graduated in 2005 from Chaparral High School in Scottsdale, Ariz....selected a 2004 first-team All-American by Collegiate Baseball (Louisville Slugger)...chosen as the 2004 Arizona Gatorade and Arizona 4A High School Player of the Year...twice selected to the All-Arizona team (2004 and 2005)...earned first-team All-State honors in 2004 and 2005...named the 2005 Region Pitcher of the Year...led his team to three straight Arizona 4A State crowns (2003-05) as his club was a combined 94-8 over those three seasons and was ranked as high as fifth in the country in 2005...as a senior, hit .475 with three home runs and 37 RBI, while posting an 8-1 record with a 1.32 ERA on the hill...hit .480 with 46 RBI as a junior and was 8-1 with an 0.50 ERA on the mound...holds school records for lowest single-season ERA (0.50) and most RBI in a single game (10, set in 2005)...coached by Jerry Dawson.
Other Amateur Baseball: Was both a pitcher and position player for the Brewster Whitecaps of the Cape Cod Baseball League in the summer of 2007...spent the summer of 2006 as a two-way player for the Kenai Peninsula Oilers, winners of the Alaska Baseball League with a 32-15 overall record and a 23-12 ABL mark Hit .214 (21-for-98) with two homers, 12 RBI and three stolen bases, while recording a 1-1 record and a 3.12 ERA with eight strikeouts in 17.1 innings on the hill...played for the St. Cloud River Bats of the Northwoods League during the summer of 2005 on a collegiate summer league team (rare for a player before he begins college)...hit .143 with three RBI at the plate while going 1-1 with an 8.36 ERA on the mound in limited action for the 2005 River Bats...a member of the 2004 USA Junior National Team, along with Stanford teammates Erik Davis and Randy Molina, that finished fourth at the 2004 World Championships in Taiwan...played for the Scottsdale Firebirds Connie Mack squad during the summer of 2004, helping the team to a second place finish at the 2004 State Championships...played for Team Arizona in 2004 and finished fifth at the Sunbelt Classic Tournament.
Personal Information: Son of Larry and Gail Yount...has one brother, Cody and two sisters, Tatum and Robyn...his father, Larry, pitched in the minors for the Houston Astros' organization...he made it to the majors but was injured during warm-ups prior to an inning and never appeared in a MLB game (although he was credited for one appearance)...uncle, Robin, is a member of the Major League Baseball Hall of Fame, playing 20 seasons for the Milwaukee Brewers (1974-93)...Robin was a three-time All-Star selection, a two-time American League MVP and a Gold Glove winner in 1982, while he finished his Major League career with 3,142 hits and a .285 batting average...cousin, Dustin, was drafted by the Baltimore Orioles in 2001 and played in their farm system until 2007...majored in economics.
