General: Returns to competition for the first time since 2001 and has been rehabbing a serve shoulder injury since 1999 Could be a big factor in the squad's fortunes if she's able to regain even some of the form that made her a highly-touted recruit prior to coming to Stanford A favorite to make the U.S. Olympic team in 2000 before developing her shoulder problem.
As A Sophomore In 2003-04: Did not compete due to a shoulder injury.
As A Freshman In 2002-03: Trained early in the fall season before beginning a long break in her competitive swimming career due to a severe shoulder injury.
International Competition: Finaled in five events at the short-course meters World Cup in Melbourne, Australia, in December of 2000, finishing fourth in the 400 IM (4:47.83), fifth in the 200 breast (2:32.45) and 200 IM (2:16.87), sixth in the 100 breast (1:12.20) and seventh in the 100 IM (1:05.79) Helped guide a Team USA 800 meter free relay squad to a second-place finish at the 1999 Pan American Games Qualified for the Pan Pacific Championships in 1997 at the age of 12 andfinished 15th in the 100 meter breast (1:11.96).
National Competition: Finaled in three events at the 1999 Summer Senior Nationals, finishing fourth in the 200 (2:01.79), fifth in the 400 (personal-best 4:15.52) and eighth in the 1500 (16:42.72) meter free, as well as 11th in the 200 meter IM (2:20.01) Anchored a winning 400 meter medley relay (personal-best 4:12.33) squad for Irvine Novaquatics at the 1999 Summer Senior Nationals, while also swimming on a third-place 200 meter free relay team and a fourth-place 400 meter free relay squad Took eighth in the 200 meter free at the 1998 Summer Senior Nationals to qualify for the Pan American Games Finaled at the 1998 Spring Senior Nationals in the 200 meter free, 100 meter breast and 200 meter IM Was fourth in the 100 meter breast at the 1997 Summer Senior Nationals as a 12-year-old with a time of 1:09.87, setting National Age Group records for both the 100 and 50 meter breast Finished seventh in the 100 meter breast at the 1997 Spring Senior Nationals (1:12.34) Was seventh in the 200 meter IM at the 1997 U.S. Open (2:20.48) to set a National Age Group record for 11-12 year-olds Broke a 19-year-old record in the 100 meter free for California 11-12 year-olds in 1997 Still holds National Age Group records for 11-12 girls in the 50 and 100 meter breast, as well as the 200 yard IM and 200 meter IM Had the honor of tying with Amy Van Dyken in the bonus finals of the 100 meter free at the 1997 U.S. Open when she was just 12 years old.
