Toby Gerhart Named Stanford/Muscle Milk Student-Athlete of the Week

STANFORD-- Heisman Trophy candidate Toby Gerhart mowed down another opponent with his third 200-yard game of the season en route to the Pac-10 Player of the Week award and the Stanford Athletics Muscle Milk Athlete of the Week honor.
The senior from Norco, Calif. rushed for 205 yards and three touchdowns, including the game-winning score with 0:59 left in the game. He also threw a 18-yard touchdown pass to Ryan Whalen to tie the game at 38-38 in the fourth quarter.
The three rushing touchdowns ran his season total to 26,breaking the Pac-10 single-season record and giving the senior 42 touchdowns in his career, breaking the Stanford standard set by Darrin Nelson (41) from 1977-81.
Gerhart currently ranks second in the nation in rushing, averaging 144.7 yards per game and leads the nation in scoring, averaging 13.33 points a game and touchdowns (26).
It marks the third time in the last four weeks Gerhart has been named the Pac-10's Player of the Week.
