This is the first career honor for Green and the first for a men?™s basketball player since Landry Fields earned the award on Jan. 11, 2009.

Green averaged 23.5 points per game as Stanford swept a two-game Pac-10 homestand for the first time since defeating the Washington schools over consecutive games in 2008. Picked to finish last in the Pac-10, Stanford defeated USC and UCLA to improve to 8-7 overall and 2-1 in conference action.

Green scored a team-high 17 points in Stanford?™s 54-53 victory over conference leader USC, snapping the Trojans?™ eight-game winning streak.

Three days later, he poured in a career-best 30 points on 11-18 shooting with five three-pointers in a 70-59 win over UCLA. Green became the first Stanford player to score 30 points in a game since Brook Lopez finished with 30 against Marquette in the second round of the 2008 NCAA Tournament.

Green, who is averaging 17.6 points and 3.7 rebounds per game, has now scored in double-figures in 13 straight games. He leads the Pac-10 in three-pointers made per game at 3.1 while ranking sixth in the league in scoring.

Also nominated: Nick Amuchastegui (wrestling), Eugene Godsoe (men?™s swimming), Ashley Morgan (women?™s gymnastics), Nnemkadi Ogwumike (women?™s basketball), Julia Smit (women?™s swimming).
