Senior Candice Wiggins (San Diego, Calif./La Jolla Country Day) of the No. 7/7 Stanford women's basketball team was selected as the Stanford/Muscle Milk Student-Athlete of the Week for the week of Feb. 24-March 2.
Wiggins averaged 23.0 points, 7.5 rebounds, 3.50 assists, and shot a solid 56.3% (18-for-32) from the field this past weekend, as Stanford clinched its eighth consecutive Pac-10 regular-season title with wins at Washington and Washington State. Individually, Wiggins broke yet another career record over the weekend, becoming the Pac-10's all-time leading scorer as her layup with 1:25 left in the first half against Washington State gave her 2,416 career points, surpassing Lisa Leslie’s 13-year old record of 2,414 points.
