Alex O’Brien became the Cardinal’s third triple-crown winner as a senior in 1992 after passing up the opportunity to go pro a year early. He is one of only two men’s tennis players in Stanford history to be named a first-team All-American four times. O’Brien was a part of three NCAA championship teams during his four years on the Farm, and would go on to be the top doubles player in the world in 2000. His only Grand Slam crown came at the 1999 U.S. Open, though he also finished second once at the U.S. Open and twice at the Australian Open in the late 1990s. |
