STANFORD, Calif. – Stanford men’s gymnast Akash Modi was named the Muscle Milk Student-Athlete of the Week for his outstanding performance this past weekend at the NCAA Championships.
Modi finished second in the all-around (89.200) at the NCAA Finals to help lead Stanford to a third-place finish – the team’s eighth top-three finish in the past nine years. His second-place finish earned him the first All-America of his career.
Modi added two All-America awards during the NCAA Individual Event finals, placing second on parallel bars (15.600) and third on pommel horse (14.825).
It is the first Muscle Milk Student-Athlete of the Week honor for Modi and the men’s gymnastics team’s third recipient this academic year.
