Ogle Named #GoStanford Student-Athlete of the Week

STANFORD, Calif. – Stanford field hockey’s Elise Ogle was named the #GoStanford Student-Athlete of the Week for her performance this past weekend in victories at No. 2 Connecticut and Yale.

Ogle, a communication major, assisted the game-winning goal in Stanford’s first victory against Connecticut in program history. She added a goal and assist against Yale to help the Cardinal cap a 2-0 weekend and stretch its winning-streak to four games.

Ogle is the fifth #GoStanford Student-Athlete of the Week in 2014 after receiving the most votes in the weekly GoStanford.com poll.

Ogle is the fourth field hockey player to earn the weekly honor after teammates Lauren Becker, Alex McCawley and Kelsey Harbin earned honors earlier this year.

It is the first time Stanford has had two or more Stanford student-athlete of the week awards since 2010 when Stephanie Byrne (Oct. 4) and Becky Dru (Nov. 8) claimed honors.

Fans can participate in the weekly poll on Mondays with results revealed on Tuesdays.

Also Nominated: Inky Ajanaku, women’s volleyball; Bret Bonanni, men’s water polo; Peter Kalambayi, football
