AT STANFORD: Heads into the season in competition with Jordan Williamson for the starting kicker's duties.
2011 (SOPHOMORE): Saw action in four games...was 4-5 in field goals tries with a long of 37 and converted 14-15 of his point after attempts...averaged 57.9 yards on his 16 kickoffs...played a pivotal role in Stanford's overtime win at USC...filled in for an injured Jordan Williamson and made both of his field-goal attempts and was 6-6 in point-after conversions...his 33-yard field goal gave Stanford a 10-3 lead at the 7:10 mark of the second quarter...connected on a 29-yarder at with 5:10 remaining in the third period to tie the game at 27...made his only point after attempt in the overtime period which tied the game at 48-48 following a Luck to Toilolo touchdown pass...was named the Pac-12 Conference's Special Teams Player of the Week for his efforts...handled the place kicking chores for the next two weeks against Oregon State and Oregon...made a 31-yard field goal against the Beavers and was 1-2 against the Ducks, converting from 37-yards out in the at the 4:57 mark of the second quarter.
2010: (REDSHIRT FRESHMAN): Saw action in two games... Sacramento State and at Oregon. He had one kickoff for 56 yards against the Hornets.
2009 (FRESHMAN): Did not see action after making the team as a walk-on.
HIGH SCHOOL AND PERSONAL DATA: Graduated from St. Augustine High School in San Diego, Calif....head coach was Jerry Ralph...joins older brother Nate on this year's roster...earned three varsity letters as a kicker...was invited to play in the Down Under Bowl as a senior but did not participate...also lettered in soccer...four-year honor roll student...parents are Paul and Angela Whitaker...younger brother of former Stanford kicker Nate Whitaker, who earned two letters in the 2009 and '10 seasons...born in San Diego, Calif.... full name is Eric Thomas Whitaker...majoring in product design.
