Garrett Wolfe returns to The Farm in the 2023 season to follow Troy Taylor, working as the Director of Football Operations. This will be his fifth season overall working with Cardinal Football.
The previous four seasons, Garrett was with Troy Taylor at Sacramento State, where he began as the Director of Football Operations before earning a promotion to Assistant Athletics Director for Football Administration. There, he had numerous tasks including budgeting, travel planning, alumni relations, fundraising, and managing football’s support stuff. One of his initial projects with the team was to reconnect the alumni to the new staff and players. Wolfe, with the help of some key alumni, helped reestablish The Huddle to centralize alumni outreach and fundraising support and also created an honorary captain program which allows an alum to speak to the team the night before each game and take part in all gameday activities.
Garrett joined Sacramento State after spending four seasons at Stanford in different positions, finishing as the Cardinal’s Assistant Director of Recruiting Operations. Wolfe began his tenure on The Farm in 2015, a season in which Stanford captured the Pac-12 title as well as a Rose Bowl Victory. During the remainder of his time, Stanford would claim another Pac-12 North Championship (2017), two Sun Bowl Championships (2016 & 2018) and a trip to the Alamo Bowl (2017).
Prior to working at Stanford, Garrett served as the Director of Football Operations at Portland State in 2014. While with the Vikings, Garrett was responsible for the day-to-day operations of the program, including team travel, NFL liaison, football camps and clinics management, recruiting, and assisting the coaches with administration of the program.
Garrett began his career in football with a pair of jobs in Sacramento. He worked as the Video Coordinator for the Sacramento Mountain Lions of the United Football League and was also the Assistant Director of Football Operations at Sacramento State from 2011-13.
He left Sacramento to work for ACS Athletics as a football liaison. ACS provides database support for athletics programs in compliance, recruiting, and team management.
A native of Folsom, California, Garrett earned a degree in Sports Management from The University of Texas in 2010. He followed that with an internship with Octagon Football, a full-service NFL Agency. The Folsom High School graduate played under Troy Taylor.
