Steve Donatell enters his third season with the Cardinal in 2021 and will serve as a Defensive Quality Control Coach.
Most recently, Donatell was an assistant coach at the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga, where he was in charge of the outside linebackers. In his only season in Chattanooga, the Mocs boasted the top defense in the Southern Conference.
Donatell began his collegiate career as a linebacker at Wake Forest. A team captain as a senior, he was named ACC Academic All-Conference in 2015 and graduated with a bachelor's degree in communications. He then spent the 2016 season as a graduate transfer tight end at Western Kentucky.
A native of Highlands Ranch, Colorado, Donatell was a tight end on the Seattle Seahawks practice squad in 2017. His father, Ed, has coached in the NFL since 1990 and is currently the defensive coordinator for the NFL's Denver Broncos.
