Jacob Callahan joined Stanford University as the Head Football Athletic Trainer in March of 2023 after spending nearly 10 years at San Diego State University, most recently serving as the Associate Football Athletic Trainer and Surgical/Rehab Coordinator. During his time at SDSU, Callahan helped the Aztecs play in three conference championship games, winning two Mountain West championships and playing in seven bowl games.

Prior to joining San Diego State, Callahan served as the Seasonal Assistant Athletic Trainer for the San Diego Chargers after spending the previous two seasons as a Student Athletic Training Intern with the organization. He also worked one year as a Graduate Assistant Athletic Trainer at UC San Diego working with the baseball and women's swimming and diving teams (2011-12).

A San Diego native, Callahan graduated from San Diego State in 2011 with a Bachelor of Science degree in kinesiology with an emphasis in athletic training. During his time as a student at SDSU, he worked primarily with the football and baseball programs. Callahan completed his Master of Science degree in rehabilitation science from the California University of Pennsylvania, graduating with honors in 2013. Callahan is a current member of the National Athletic Trainers Association as well as a certified Corrective Exercise Specialists (CES).

Callahan currently lives in Redwood City with his wife Deborah, daughter Fiona and their two dogs.
