- Ranked No. 41 nationally by ESPN at the inside linebacker position
- Lands at No. 8 by On3 for inside linebackers in the state of Texas, with a composite ranking of No. 10 by 247Sports
- Also lettered in track and field in high school, where he did shot put
- Played on both sides of the ball at Magnolia West, but stood out with 282 total tackles at the varsity level, with 18 tackles for loss and 7.5 sacks
- Added 37 receptions, 527 receiving yards, and 12 total touchdowns on offense
