Dr. Kelli Moran-Miller is in her ninth year at Stanford and currently serves as the Anderson Brothers Associate Athletics Director, Mental Health & Performance Psychology. In this role, she oversees the Sport Psychology department and serves on DAPER’s Leadership Team.

Dr. Moran-Miller is a licensed psychologist, Certified Mental Performance Consultant ® (CMPC) and Clinical Professor in Stanford School of Medicine’s Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences. She has served on DAPER’s Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Advisory Group since 2020, served on the Pac-12 Mental Health Task Force from 2018 to 2024, and was a founding member of the Clinical/Counseling Sport Psychology Association (CCSPA), where she has held roles on the Advisory Board and numerous committees and working groups. Dr. Moran-Miller has been an invited international speaker and presents at national conferences on topics including student-athlete mental health and wellness, mental health-related medical disqualification and return to play, and suicide prevention and postvention.

Before coming to Stanford, Dr. Moran-Miller served as the Director of Counseling and Sport Psychology for Athletics at the University of Iowa from 2011 to 2015. She earned her B.A. from the University of Notre Dame and her M.A. and Ph.D. in Counseling Psychology (specialty in Sport Psychology) from the University of Missouri-Columbia. She has a graduate minor in Multicultural Psychology and is passionate about promoting mental health and wellness among marginalized communities. She completed her predoctoral internship at Colorado State University, where she was part of the Sport and Performance Program. Her post-doctoral residency was at Virginia Tech, where she provided clinical services and sport psychology consultation.

On a personal note, Kelli enjoys trail running, yoga, pick-up basketball, and spending time with her husband, Rob, and their 3 children.
